VISUAL REPRESENTATION
Psalms 144:1 says " Praise be to the Lord, my Rock who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle." 2 Timothy 1:7 says " For God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of power and love and self-control" Luke 1:37 says " For nothing is impossible with God." I created this collage to represent a little bit about my character now and a guideline I wish to follow after high school. As of right now, I am on pace to graduate and on pace on my classes. It gets tough balancing school work and extra curricular activities, such as football and Honors Guitar, but I know with perseverance and encouragement, I can endure this senior year. I take note on the first picture I have set up on the collage, "surround yourself with the dreamers and doers." Throughout high school, I have witnessed graduating seniors take prosper in leaving Lindsay; but they had no goals or means of accomplishing their goals. Now that I have reached senior year, I still see those people around and all they can tell me is they blame who they would hang out with because those people have not amounted to much as well. I believe I have a great set of friends and acquaintances, each with their own individual dream or goal after high school; we all have our dreams that we want to achieve and fulfill. I do not see any of my friends not amount to what they wish in becoming; they themselves are dreamers and thinkers, I see those that I am surrounded by, achieving in what they dream. My main goal after high is to get an education, work, and achieve a level where I can be able to support the family I wish on having; by achieving that I goal, I am going to enlist into the military and serve 4 years as an active duty United States Marine. Being in the Marine Corps is no easy feat, being in the military in general is not easy; being away from loved ones for so long to come back and see a changed world around you. There will be a time where I will wish I was home, where I won't believe I can't go on anymore; but, that's when I will think about the rest of the quotes in my collage, the bible verses. As long as I have faith in myself, in others, in God, no obstacle, no enemy will hold me back from accomplishing what I need to. Just like the United States Marines motto, "Semper Fidelis," Always Faithful. Always faithful to God, always faithful to our brothers, our families, always faithful to ourselves. People say that everything happens for a reason, I believe that is vacuous. Things just happen, there is no just reasoning to why it happened; it's what we take from it that matters, how we can build from it. I do believe God has a plan for everyone including myself; but I also believe his ultimate plan for us is to just enjoy life and be happy, to find peace. I believe I will be able to find happiness by being able to support my family; I have seen too many times a baby being born and the father giving up on the child. The child does not deserve that, the child deserves to be loved and supported. I made a vow with myself to always love and support my child no matter what; I will always support those around me as well. The life I see myself in after high school is going to require me to have a lot of faith in myself and God, and keep a spirit of power, love, self-control, strength. Nothing will be easy after high school, every day will be a challenge, it will just depend how I will take on my own daily challenge. I will fight for my family, for my country, my God, for myself. The only easy day, was yesterday.
